Some call it the Writing Cave, or the Writing Cubby, or the Writing Well. I call it the Writing Bubble, that special place that writers go to do the thing they love the most. After last year's publication of Pieces of Tracy and all the related online activity, I'm switching gears and retreating (somewhat) to the Writing Bubble in order to devote myself to my next book. While I would love to share details, now isn't the time. But I do have a story that's coming along nicely and even a working title. That's all I can say for now. I want to thank everyone for understanding why the entries might be coming a little less frequently. However, I'm still active on social media so please say hello on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram when you see me!
I've made a few adjustments to the website over the weekend, part of my ongoing efforts to make the site user-friendly and, well, just plain friendly.
I've added an "About" tab in order to include a little more biographical information. I've also created a tab for "Essays, Interviews, Press" to capture contributions elsewhere in media and the blog-osphere. And, finally, my Twitter feed is now on the sidebar with up-to-the-minute remarks, images, opinions. If you're on Twitter or any of the social media sites, do say hello. I'm always glad to hear from readers, fellow book-lovers, even spambots...provided they are friendly!
As a finale to the Blog Tour, I'm thrilled to announce that Pieces of Tracy is now available as an audio book! Narrated by Jessica Almasy (who's won an Earphones award for her work in the field), it is now available through Amazon and Audible.
It's incredibly surreal hearing ones own work narrated by a reader whose task it is to bring the story to life in a way that adds depth by expanding the dimensions of the words. I think you'll agree Jessica's done a terrific job.
Did I mention that it's UNABRIDGED?
Below are the links to the Amazon and Audible sites for purchase.
Thanks to my publisher, Diversion Books, to Folio Literary, and, to Audible for making this a reality!
Today's the last day of the Pieces of Tracy Blog Tour. I didn't know what to expect when I signed up, but it's been a real kick getting in touch with an array of book bloggers who have one thing in common: passion for books. They asked great questions, took time to get to know me and Pieces of Tracy. It's bloggers like these who are a growing and vital component to the success of titles like mine, who understand the value of their contributions, and always have an opinion. So, while the tour is winding down, please take time to visit their blogs. You'll be glad you did!
Here is the list of the stops on the Pieces of Tracy Blog Tour which starts this Wednesday.
July 17: Infinite House of Books
July 18: Julie Valerie's Book Blog
July 19: Girl of 1,000 Wonders
July 20: Indie Authors You Want to Read
July 22: Diary of a Mad Stitcher
I encourage you to visit these sites over the next few days so you can see what we're up to. Additionally, check in with me on Facebook and Twitter for up-to-the minute updates.
Like the weather, it's gonna be hot!
Starting next week, I'm embarking on the Pieces of Tracy Blog Tour, making a series of stops across a variety of blogs to promote Tracy. From July 17-22, we'll have reviews, interviews, guest blogs, giveaways--a little something for everyone. I've been working with a variety of bloggers to get everything in place and will be sharing the results here and via Twitter (@j_danielparra). Whether you've already read the book or if you're still discovering it, I think you'll enjoy what we've got in store. And the best part is, you can participate from anyplace that's comfortable for you during these hot July days!
Thanks, as always, to the phenomenal team at Diversion Books for making this tour a reality.
I receive questions about when the audio version of Pieces of Tracy will be available. So far, I don't have a date but am assured it's on the way. In the meantime, here's a feature on the actors who bring audio books to life. Audible, the Amazon company who'll be issuing Tracy in audio, is prominently featured. I find the whole process fascinating and look forward to hearing Tracy in the very near future.
Happy Summer Solstice! Very happy to usher in summer with the news that Pieces of Tracy has cracked the Nook Books Bestsellers list. It's not only in the Top 100, but, as of this morning, it's in the Top 40!
A huge thanks to Nook readers everywhere who are discovering Pieces of Tracy for the first time. I am eager to hear any feedback you might have.
And, as always, thanks to the amazing folks at Diversion Books for their sustained support and enthusiasm, my dear agent, Melissa Sarver, Folio Literary, and (not in the least) my awesome family for being my backbone and putting up with my silly text messages. Love to you all!
Bloggers and blogging community, today is the final day to sign up the Pieces of Tracy Blog Tour, which takes place from July 15-22. I'm excited to connect with as many of you as possible, contribute guest blogs, offer giveaways, discuss the book and its origins. Signing up is as easy as filling out this form. We'll take care of the rest.
Meanwhile, I want to thank Apple's iBookstore for featuring Pieces of Tracy this week in its "Great Reads for $3.99" or less. It's there under "Fiction and Literature", a real steal if you ask me.
I'm ultra-excited to announce the 2013 Pieces of Tracy Blog Tour. As the title implies, if you're a blogger, this an opportunity to read the book, post a review, request a guest blog, interview yours truly, ask questions, or host a giveaway. The tour is from July 15-22 and I'll be available during that time to connect over all things Tracy. To participate, simply fill out this form BY FRIDAY JUNE 14 and I'll follow up based on your availability. A big thank you to Diversion Books for making this possible. I'm looking forward to sharing this special event with you.
